WHY IS SUGAR NOT HEALTHY?

The only thing sugar can be used for in the body is energy. Sugar has no other useful properties. In the Western world, energy deficiency is hardly a problem, so sugar is completely unnecessary.

According to our approach and modern nutritional science, calories from added white sugar are the absolute worst calories you you can consume. When sucrose (white sugar) is broken down in the body the glucose part goes straight into the body, where it raises blood sugar levels immediately, causing insulin to be secreted, so that so that body cells convert this part of the sugar directly into fat, which is stored. The fructose part of sucrose can only be handled by the liver, which becomes heavily loaded and raises the blood concentration of inappropriate fats. High fructose consumption is also linked to an increased risk of adult-onset diabetes later in life. The above are just a few of the many reasons why virtually every food authority in the world wants to reduce the consumption of added sugars by the population.
