MARZIPAN EGG
Recipe author: Marja Folcke
Making your own Easter candy should be easy. Here is a recipe for sweet sugar-free marzipan eggs dipped in dark chocolate.
INGREDIENTS
Eggs 12 pcs:
- 1/2 dl sweet almonds
- 4 egg whites
-
6 dl almond flour
- 5 tbsp Use Like Sugar
- 6 drops of bitter almond flavoring
- 150 g Dark chocolate
- possibly 1 tsp oil
Decoration:
- ex. grated coconut
- chopped chocolate
- dried berries
METHOD:
Roast sweet almonds in a dry pan. Stir with a spatula so they don't burn. Allow to cool. Mix the almond flour with Use Like Sugar and a few drops of bitter almond aroma. Stir in the egg whites last (add more almond flour as needed if the dough is too loose). Take an almond and press it into the center of a marzipan ball and shape it into a small egg. Place in the freezer for a few minutes to harden slightly. Melt the chocolate, preferably with a dash of oil, and gently dip the marzipan eggs in this (use a fork to dip). Decorate with the garnish of your choice. Allow to set and store in the fridge.
